Harstine Island Women’s Club December 1, 2016
President, Michelle Mott introduced our program presenter, Marlene Echaniz. She brought in her miniature doll house to view and explained the history behind it. She gave a wonderful 20 minute presentation.
The meeting was called to order by our President, Michelle Mott at 1:10pm
Introduction of Guests
Michelle thanked our hostesses, Whickey Larson, Margie Plebuch, Diane Meyers & Sharon Zeeban. She also welcomed guests of members.
Minutes: The minutes were approved as written. Thank you note was written to Bill Baarsma, last months program presenter. Thank you notes were received from Turning Pointe & Saint’s Pantry for our donations.
The treasurers report for October was approved with a correction.
Diane Dawley was thanked for her hard work on Holiday House. A volunteer is needed for next year to run the kitchen. Linda Vanlandingham will work with that volunteer as to what is needed. Judy Schaaf will be taking the chairperson for Holiday House for next year.
No new business at this time.
Kathy Earl announced she will be hosting Craft Day on January 21st. Some of the classes are An unusual pizza cooking class by Rose Benz, fish printing by Arlen Morris, origami made from old calendars by Sonia Cole and needle felting by Kathy Earl & others.
Sewing will be held at the home of Marlene Echaniz at 10am on December 20th.
April Hansen announced that $371.00 was collected today and thanked everyone for their generosity.
January meeting will feature Bingo. Please, bring a wrapped white elephant gift.
March meeting will feature Rose Benz & Jan Irving running the auction. Members were encouraged to be thinking of items to donate.
Michelle shared that the Harstine Island Community Club announced their Honored Citizens of the Year:
