Did you know that the Harstine Island Bridge is turning 50 years old in June 2019?
The Harstine Island Community Club is sponsoring “The Crossing of the Bridge Parade,” reenacting the original opening ceremony in 1969. We are asking all the clubs and organizations to participate by decorating a float, truck, car, tractor, or the vehicle of your choice to represent your club. Everyone is encouraged to choose a special vehicle to showcase. Some ideas are antique/classic cars, buggies, farm vehicles, convertibles, Fire Truck, families, etc.
There will be a contest for the “Best in Show”, “Most Original” and other categories yet to be determined. Start thinking and planning your ride for the big parade!
After crossing the bridge, follow the parade to the Community Hall. “Contest” takes place in the parking lot, followed by the potluck and festivities.
